R10 000 for Phenduka Primarys grade R Children

October 14, 2009 A passion for education and a love for children saw a KwaZulu-Natal community volunteer not only reach her dream of becoming a teacher but win a R10 000 prize from the PEO Grade R Competition to buy equipment or books for her grade R class at the Phenduka Combined Primary school near Msinga. The PEO competition is an initiative of IPEB (the Institute for Partnerships between Education and Business) supported by RedCap Foundation, the Mail & Guardian’s The Teacher newspaper and Afrisam.
