Our belief is that every young person should be given an opportunity to reach their full potential. With that in mind donation requests will be considered in accordance with the MRP Foundation's vision and purpose. Rather than offering cash donations we grant merchandise and product from Mr Price Group stores.

If you would like to apply for assistance, please complete the form below. Ensure that you attach:

  • copy of npo certificate
  • proposal of requirements on a letterhead - not more than 3 pages
  • bbbee certificate
  • please note that if you do not attach the required forms your application will be rejected.
  • donations are considered from April 1 - September 30, closed period from October 1 - March 31.
  • applications received outside of these dates will not be considered.

we will consider:

  • requests focused on the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of youth under the age of 24.
  • requests focused on using sport as a development tool for the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of children and youth.
  • requests that are of a developmental nature.
  • requests that benefit children & youth from poor communities or previously disadvantaged groups.
  • requests from registered npos, with a npo number and certificate that have been in existence for at least 18 months.
  • schools requests must be on a school letterhead with the relevant emis number.
  • organisations must be based in south africa.

we will not consider:

  • sponsorship of any nature where the benefit is purely focused on brand exposure.
  • sports sponsorships.
  • golf days, fashion shows and beauty contests.
  • ‘once off’ events (including annual events) - viz. rallies, conferences, conventions, fun days, walks, fundraisers or tournaments.
  • infrastructure or operating costs.
  • organisations outside of south africa.

Education packs breathe life into school science.

 November 11, 2013 There’s an excited buzz in the science classrooms of a group of EThekwini schools. Siemens Stiftung Experimento Programme, in association with EThekwini Community Foundation, the eThekwini Municipality and the KZN Science Centre, have donated essential science packs and invested in vital teacher training.


Business with a heart

 November 11, 2013 It’s always good to see businesses that value their employees and hold them close to their heart. Business for Good, a manufacturing business in Pinetown, recently partnered with the RedCap Foundation to facilitate an Early Childhood Development (ECD) training for six ECD practioners in the Camperdown community in KwaZulu-Natal.


R10 000 for Phenduka Primarys grade R Children

October 14, 2009 A passion for education and a love for children saw a KwaZulu-Natal community volunteer not only reach her dream of becoming a teacher but win a R10 000 prize from the PEO Grade R Competition to buy equipment or books for her grade R class at the Phenduka Combined Primary school near Msinga. The PEO competition is an initiative of IPEB (the Institute for Partnerships between Education and Business) supported by RedCap Foundation, the Mail & Guardian’s The Teacher newspaper and Afrisam.
