The Ride for MRP Foundation, taking place from 29 - 30 November, is an epic event where 40 seasoned cyclists to tackle a gruelling ride from Johannesburg to Durban. Spanned over two days the 640 km ride is not just a race but combines a daunting sporting challenge with a greater purpose, to raise funds and awareness for the MRP Foundation.
This year the courageous group of cyclists are hoping to raise an incredible R300 000 for the established non-profit, adding to the R500 000 that has been raised since the event was first staged in 2010. These funds that will go a long way in furthering the MRP Foundation’s vision of creating a South Africa where young people become inspired, healthy and engaged citizens.
Natasja Ambrosio, MRP Foundation Director, believes that everyone can create change and do good. “The MRP Foundation is all about ordinary people doing extraordinary things and the contributions raised from this ride will help the MRP Foundation to continue to impact the thousands of young South Africans. Through our sustainable and innovative programmes in education and skills development we help give youth the opportunity to be something significant and positively contribute to society.”
